Fear of Heart Problem

by sumana

I always have the fear that am getting some heart problem.

It's common these days that I go into a shattered condition if ever I get a mild shoulder or neck or chest pain. I check my own pulse many times in a day to find out whether it's less or more than the normal.

I am not able to concentrate on my work and family life due to this. I am 28 years old. Several times I convinced myself that I am perfectly alright but still am not able to rule out these thoughts from my mind.

I really need your advice. I develop high heart beats when I get these feelings.

negative self talk

Thank you for contacting Positive Personal Growth.

The first thing I would suggest is that you pay your doctor a visit and have a complete check up. This will tell you that you are healthy and there is nothing wrong with your heart.

Once you have done this you should work on your self talk. Because you have told yourself so often that you have heart problems, your sub conscious believes this to be the case.

The sub conscious cannot tell the difference between a lie and the truth. When you keep letting yourself know about your heart, your subconscious thinks you are thinking true thoughts.

Negative thinking brings negative results, so it makes sense that positive thinking brings positive results.

When you begin to think thoughts such as, "I am healthy and well" or, "I have a healthy heart", and you repeatedly let your sub conscious know this, it will readjust itself to accept this new information. (Don't say "I don't have a heart problem" it may pick up the words heart problem, and not reprogram itself in the right way.)

If you can stay determined, and reaffirm with positive self talk, you should slowly but surely alter the way you see yourself, and in doing so, put right your work and family life.

You can do this Sumana, stay focused and you will succeed.

Good luck,

Kay
