Low self esteem

by Kasinda
(New York)

All my life I've been put down and looked down upon. I always tried to fight back, and I always felt I had something to prove. I'm always searching for someone else's approval.

I'm over weight not skinny, not really fat either, and I'm dark skin, very dark.

Thank you for contacting Positive Personal Growth.

You have given away your power. By this I mean you have allowed other people's comments to make you the way you are today. Had those comments been positive rather than negative you would have been an amazing human being, but because they weren't you spend your time looking for approval from other people.

The important thing here is that you have to approve of yourself. You have nothing to prove to other people, ever. When you are happy and confident you will be strong enough to know that what others think can't harm you, and more importantly, doesn't matter.

You have caused your problem by reacting to the negative comments, and believing them, and so have actually become the way they say, even knowing that it isn't true.

So what can you do? Stop reacting to comments, when you hear them, don't take them to heart, instantly reverse them into positive comments that make you feel good.

Take back your power - now! Stop looking for approval, start loving yourself for the way you are. If there are things you want to change about yourself, do it.

A great way is simply by talking to yourself! Let yourself know how wonderful you are, how worthwhile, how beautiful. It's what you think and feel about yourself that should be important to you.

Don't concern yourself with what the others think, what do they know anyway, only you know the inner you, and you know you are marvelous!

Believe this Kasinda and make it your truth.

Bring the power back within yourself.

Love,
Kay
