I got the job over internal person who applied for job, now I'm her boss!

I have just been offered a position as office manager. In my final interview the director mentioned the person that would be training me also applied for the job but they felt she just wasn't management material.

The director said she hopes that it won't be a problem.

Any suggestions on how to go into this setting?
