Having a hard time finding a job.

Hi everyone! I am having a hard time on finding a job right now. I am seeking for a call center company, and I am not really good at speaking in English, that is my main problem right now.

I am living in the Philippines and we have our own native language, that's why I can't practice speaking in English in our home. For now the best job for me is to become a call center agent, only call center company accepts undergraduate students, and this is the only job I can apply for now; then what should I do to overcome my fear at speaking and dealing to other people?

I hope you can help me! Thank you in advance! :)

unable to find work
by: Anonymous

Hello I have been trying to look for work for 3 1/2 years now I have put in hundreds of applications everyday and I have over 16 years of combined work experience and two successful school education. I am currently skilled in medical billing medical assisting customer service call center inbound and outbound office assisting but yet with all these skills being reflected in my resume I have been unable to reach the attention of my employers.

In my work history there was a lot of instability because some may have been temp job long term though needless to say I don't know really what the set back is but is seriously causing depression and hardship on my relationship with my family and the list goes on I can't take it and I don't know what to do anymore.

Seeking a job

Thank you for contacting Positive Personal Growth. I feel you should not limit the kind of job you are looking for because once you are in the work force and earning a wage you will find it easier to become employed elsewhere.

I believe there are educational CD programs available that teach the English language and maybe if you were to purchase one of these they may be of help to you. Are there any clubs in your area where you know that people with a good knowledge of English go? Ask around and see whether anyone can help. Reading books out loud to yourself should also help you with your speaking.

Good luck.

Love
Kay
