Feel like outcast by Kenya Greene

by Kenya
(Richmond VA)

A little voice in keeps telling me I will never be anything and it's very hard not being in college right now. I have a problem since I was a preteen with low self esteem. I used to bounce back but can't do it any more. What can I do with this problem?

Low self esteem
by: Kay

Thank you for contacting Positive Personal Growth. It's the little voice that is causing half of your problem. The other half is that you are listening and believing that little voice.

When you constantly tell your self negative stuff you are eventually going to believe it, because your sub conscious can't tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and so when it hears what you think it accepts it as true. So basically you are thinking wrong thoughts and your self talk is making you the way you are.

Does it make sense to you that were you to replace those negative thoughts with positive ones, in time you should convince your subconscious you are a positive person? You can choose the thoughts you react to so make a point of thinking only positive stuff about yourself.

Take a look through this website, there is quite a lot of information on low self esteem and negative thoughts that should be able to help you.

Good luck, stay positive.

Love
Kay
